Burton initially joined the Austin FC organization through the Club's Academy in 2021. He signed an MLS contract with Austin FC in January 2024, making him the second player from the Club's Academy to sign as a Homegrown with the first team. He made his first team debut for Austin FC on April 22, 2026 having just turned 20.
Burton has played with Austin FC II since the team's inaugural season in 2023, winning the MLS NEXT Pro title that year and becoming the youngest-ever professional goalscorer in the Austin FC organization when he registered his first professional goal against St. Louis City 2 on April 16, 2023. In total, he has made 81 appearances for Austin FC II tallying 14 goals and seven assists.
Burton has represented the United States at the U-20, U-19, and U-17 international levels. He competed with the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, playing in all four of the team’s matches. In total, Burton has scored five goals in 23 appearances for the Stars & Stripes' youth national teams.
