Austin FC forward Myrto Uzuni was voted to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday for his role in the team’s 2-1 away win over LA Galaxy on Wednesday at Dignity Health Sports Park. Uzuni earns his second Team of the Matchday honor of 2025.
Uzuni gave Austin the lead late in the first half. He did well to control a pass from Diego Rubio at the edge of the area and unleashed an accurate strike to the bottom left corner. He then created ATXFC’s second goal by pressing Galaxy goalkeeper Novak Mićović and forcing an error, causing the ball to fall to Owen Wolff. Uzuni now has four (4) goals and two (2) assists across all competitions for the Verde & Black this season.
Austin FC is 3-1-1 in league play since the start of June, a stretch which also includes a penalty shootout win in the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals.
