As part of the Evergreen Platform presented by YETI, Austin FC’s sustainability efforts go beyond matchdays. With the help of Texas Disposal Systems (TDS), waste collected inside Q2 Stadium’s Eco Stations is kept out of landfills and given new life.
After each match, compostable waste is processed at TDS’ facility, helping reduce landfill growth, cut down pollution, and protect Austin’s green spaces.
The impact comes full circle at Cherry Creek Community Garden. With the support of Austin Parks Foundation, compost created from matchday waste helped revitalize spaces where neighbors, families, and four-legged friends come together. Volunteers, alongside Verdísimo and Gavin — a rescue dog adopted through Austin FC’s Mascot of the Match program — pitched in to spread the compost and breathe new life into the park.
Small actions, like where you throw your cup or plate on matchday, can grow into something much bigger: a greener stadium, a stronger community, and a more beautiful Austin.
