Austin FC forward Brandon Vazquez was voted to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench for his role in the team’s 1-1 home draw with Atlanta United FC on Wednesday at Q2 Stadium. Vazquez earns his first Team of the Matchday honor of 2025.
With the match tied in the 55th minute, Vazquez struck an excellent free kick from about 25 yards out which found the top right corner. The U.S. international striker now has four (4) goals in his last three (3) matches, leading Austin FC with six (6) goals in all competitions this season.
In addition to his goal, Vazquez won a game-high seven (7) duels, was fouled more than any other player in the match, and created two (2) chances.
