Austin FC fell 3-2 on the road against CF Montréal Saturday night at Stade Saputo.
Montréal took the lead early with a shot from Hennadii Synchuk getting past a diving Brad Stuver in the 9th minute. Austin responded through Myrto Uzuni who put the VERDE & Black on the board off an assist by Mikkel Desler. But the first half action wasn’t done with the home side retaking the lead in added time.
Uzuni nearly found another equalizer in the 51st minute when his shot hit the post, and Montréal then went up by two (2) with a penalty kick by Prince Owusu. Owen Wolff and Uzuni combined for a quality goal in the 77th minute – Wolff's fourth goal in the team’s last five (5) matches – though it wasn’t enough to help Austin earn a result in the end.
