Austin FC fell in a 3-1 defeat against St. Louis City SC on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium.
St. Louis opened the scoring with a long-range strike from Marcel Hartel in the 28th minute but it took Austin only eight (8) minutes to equalize. Oleksandr Svatok scored his first goal for the Club, heading in a corner kick delivered by Owen Wolff – Wolff’s team-high 11th assist of the season in all competitions.
The visitors regained the lead just before halftime though as Hartel scored his and their second. The Verde & Black tried to get back into the match in the second half but ultimately could not find another tying goal, and St. Louis added a third late.
