Austin FC Outlook
Austin FC comes off a 1-1 draw against in-state rival FC Dallas last Saturday night in which Owen Wolff scored for the third time in four matches, earning himself a place in the MLS Team of the Matchday. Wolff became the youngest player in Club history to reach double-digit goal contributions in a single season.
Austin now prepares to head north to visit Canadian side CF Montréal as the team looks to extend its unbeaten streak to seven matches in all competitions. The VERDE & Black have found success against Montréal in the past, securing 1-0 victories in both of the Club’s two previous matchups with the Bleu-blanc-noir.
Austin won its last two away matches against LA Galaxy and D.C. United and will look to make it three-in-a-row by collecting three points in the team’s only road match in August as the push for a playoff spot continues.
CF Montréal Outlook
Like Austin, Montréal drew 1-1 at home in its last match after falling behind early. D.C. opened the scoring, but Luca Petrasso equalized 13 minutes later.
Montréal finds itself in 14th place in the MLS Eastern Conference standings. The team has a record of 4-8-15 and most recently won against New England on July 25. At Stade Saputo, Montréal has collected eight points from 13 matches, with their lone home victory back in June against New York City FC.
Montréal’s attack relies heavily on forward Prince Owusu, who has a team-high 11 goals to go with four assists. At the other end of the pitch, goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois will be determined to add to his tally of five clean sheets.
