Myrto Uzuni and Owen Wolff continued their productive spells in front of goal, each finding the net to increase their tallies in the team’s last five matches to five goal contributions each.
Austin is now set for another chapter of its typically chippy matchup history with San Jose. The teams haven’t met in league play this season but did face off in the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals, as the Verde & Black advanced in penalties. This fixture last year produced the latest goal scored in Club history when Sebastián Driussi netted the winner in the 101st minute of a 4-3 Verde & Black victory.
ATXFC finds itself level on points with San Jose but with two games less played, meaning Saturday is not only a chance to climb back into seventh place but also to create a meaningful gap to the chasing pack.

San Jose found success last Saturday night, defeating Houston 2-1 away at Shell Energy Stadium. That match followed a familiar pattern for the Quakes, as both teams have scored in each of their last 13 games dating back to late May.
That trend has led to San Jose scoring the joint-most goals in the Western Conference but allowing the second-most. The dangerous strike duo of Chicho Arango and Josef Martínez lead the team with 12 goals each, but the Quakes will be without their main creator Cristian Espinoza who is suspended due to yellow card accumulation.
With SJ’s high-powered attack facing Austin’s stingy defense and the two teams neck and Western Conference standings, something will have to give in Saturday’s crucial match.
