Austin FC will be back at home this Saturday night, when the VERDE & Black take on New England Revolution at 7:30 p.m. CT at Q2 Stadium.

Austin FC Outlook

Austin FC is coming off a hard-fought win over San Jose Earthquakes on Tuesday night at PayPal Park. ATXFC showed incredible resilience to come back twice and earn a 2-2 draw after extra time. The team then displayed its composure, making all four of its attempts in the shootout and getting two penalty saves from Brad Stuver to advance to the U.S. Open Cup Semifinals in mid-September.

Austin is currently sitting in 9th place in the MLS Western Conference standings, just above the playoff line as the team turns its focus to Eastern Conference side New England Revolution. Austin will welcome New England to Q2 Stadium for the first time. The only previous meeting between the teams ended in a 2-2 draw back in 2023 in Foxborough.

Austin FC will aim to make its eventful U.S. Open Cup victory act as a catalyst to pick up important points in the league prior to the All-Star break. A victory on Saturday would be Austin’s third in its last four league matches.

New England Revolution Outlook

Like Austin in the West, New England is hovering right around the playoff line and in need of points to spur them forward in the second half of the year. The Revs fell to Portland Timbers away at Providence Park last Saturday night, and then at home against Inter Miami on Wednesday night.

New England has an overall record of 6-7-7. Strangely, the team has earned twice as many points on the road as it has at Gillette Stadium, picking up 16 from 11 matches.

Carles Gil continues to be a driving force for the Revs, with 14 goal contributions in his last 15 games. Gil’s game-changing plays have landed him on the MLS Team of the Matchday six times this season so far. It’ll be up to the VERDE & Black to keep him at bay and spoil the visitors’ first trip to Q2 Stadium.
