In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Austin FC and Kendra Scott hosted Empowerment Through Experience, a special evening dedicated to celebrating culture, community, and opportunity. The event brought together 16 student-athletes from Eastside Memorial, LBJ, Navarro, and Travis High Schools for an unforgettable experience at Q2 Stadium.

The young women learned firsthand from Austin FC staff members about the paths their own culture and experiences paved toward careers in professional sports. Panelists Ana Vasquez, Andrea Pinol, and Chantal Flores Malagon shared stories of growth, resilience, and leadership, moderated by Gissela Santa Cruz, highlighting the power of representation and mentorship.

The evening also included a guided tour of Q2 Stadium, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at spaces where matchday operations and team preparation come to life. Attendees received Austin FC soccer backpacks, female player essential packs, and a special jewelry gift and clear crossbody stadium bag from Kendra Scott.

The event culminated with the exciting announcement of a one-week paid shadowing opportunity, giving the students a chance to gain hands-on experience with the club and see their potential in action. Kendra Scott representatives were also on hand to recognize the student-athletes during a special sideline moment at Q2 Stadium before the match on October 4th against St. Louis.

Through the partnership, Austin FC and Kendra Scott celebrated the many local Latino leaders shaping the city today while empowering the next generation of young Latinas to dream bigger, aim higher, and take meaningful steps toward their future.
