Austin FC and ThermoHuman recently concluded the first year of a partnership between the two organizations. ThermoHuman’s unique technology helped Austin FC’s medical and high performance staffs throughout the 2025 season to evaluate player health in a unique and innovative way.
ThermoHuman’s technology can take a thermal image of a player’s lower extremities and measure the temperature difference to the opposite side. If one side is shown to have a higher temperature than the other – for example, a player’s right knee vs. left knee – it could reveal a variety of issues such as inflammation, lack of recovery, or fatigue that would otherwise be difficult to detect.
Austin FC staff matched information that it gathered using ThermoHuman to players’ subjective reports of soreness or tightness to create effective injury treatment and prevention plans.
