Austin FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC played out a 0-0 draw on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. The match was Austin FC’s 78th consecutive MLS home sellout, extending the league’s longest active streak.
Austin had the better chances throughout the first half. Brendan Hines-Ike nearly opened the scoring early with a header that was cleared off the line and Osman Bukari was a constant danger, registering multiple shots and chances created.
ATXFC continued to be the more threatening team in the second half while holding Vancouver’s high-flying attack to very few shots on goal. Despite all their intent though, Austin was unable to find a breakthrough against the first-place Whitecaps and earned one (1) point with their sixth shutout of the season.
