Austin FC Players Selected for International Matches in October

International soccer is back once again with the October FIFA window, and Austin FC players from the first and second team levels have been called into action to help their respective countries on the pitch from October 6-14. Below are the players who have been announced by their federations thus far.

Myrto Uzuni (Albania)

Uzuni and Albania have a crucial away World Cup qualifier against Serbia. The winner of that match will become the strong favorite to claim second place in Group K of UEFA qualifying and move on to the playoff round. The team will then face Jordan in a friendly.

  • Saturday, October 11 at 1:45 p.m. CT: Serbia vs. Albania
  • Tuesday, October 14 at 5:00 a.m. CT: Albania vs. Jordan

Julio Cascante (Costa Rica)

Costa Rica aim to bolster their chances of advancing from Concacaf World Cup qualifying’s Group C after drawing their opening two matches in September. Cascante joins los Ticos for an away match at group leaders Honduras and a home match vs. Nicaragua.

  • Thursday, October 9 at 9:00 p.m. CT: Honduras vs. Costa Rica
  • Monday, October 13 at 9:00 p.m. CT: Costa Rica vs. Nicaragua

Oleksandr Svatok (Ukraine)

Svatok and Ukraine continue their World Cup qualifying campaign with an away match against Iceland and a game against Azerbaijan (to be played in Poland). The Austin FC center back has played nine times for Ukraine to date.

  • Friday, October 10 at 1:45 p.m. CT: Iceland vs. Ukraine
  • Monday, October 13 at 1:45 p.m. CT: Ukraine vs. Azerbaijan

Micah Burton (United States U-20)

Burton joins the U.S. U-20s for the program’s camp in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain from October 6-15. Burton could make his first U-20 international appearance having made a combined 22 across the U-19 and U-17 USYNT levels.

  • Friday, October 10 at 8:00 a.m. CT: United States U-20 vs. Finland U-21
  • Tuesday, October 14 at 9:00 a.m. CT: Elche B vs. United States U-20

Ervin Torres (United States U-19)

Torres and the U.S. U-19s will also head to Spain but will base out of Marbella as the team continues its preparation to attempt to qualify for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Torres has 10 previous USYNT appearances across multiple age groups, including one at the U-19 level.
