Austin FC announced upgrades to Verizon’s network at Q2 Stadium, meaning the network will now operate at faster speeds for Verizon users inside Q2 Stadium on matchdays.
The first phase of a two-part upgrade is complete, providing fast and reliable 4G coverage in the stadium. The second phase – a 5G deployment which will provide exceptional speeds and an enhanced experience for fans calling, texting, or accessing the internet at the stadium – is currently in progress.
“Given the city we call home, we have always strived to have Q2 Stadium be on the cutting-edge of stadium technology,” said Austin FC President Andy Loughnane. “We’re excited to provide fans with this upgrade to their matchday experience and we’re grateful to Verizon and our partners at Boingo for their help in making it possible.”
