The 2024-25 season was one of consistent growth and major milestones for the Austin FC Academy. From league titles to national tournament success, and even debuts with Austin FC II, the year reflected both the talent and the trajectory of the next generation in VERDE & Black.
Two Academy teams—U18 and U16—finished the regular season as division champions, with the U16s clinching their title in memorable fashion with a decisive win over FC Dallas. The U15s added to the trophy case with two championship runs at Copa Rayados, while the U14s brought home silver from the same tournament, continuing to build momentum across age groups.
In MLS NEXT Flex, both the U18 and U15 squads topped their respective groups, securing postseason qualification. In total, three Austin FC Academy teams—U18, U16, and U15—earned their place in the MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs, held in Nashville.
Beyond team accolades, individual success was also on display. Mohammad Badawiya, Chris Ávila, and Santiago Maynez each made their debut with Austin FC II, marking an important step in their development and underscoring the Academy's role in preparing players for the profesional level.
Several players also earned recognition on the international stage. Nico Aristizábal received a call-up to the Puerto Rico U-17 National Team, while Ervin Torres and Micah Burton were selected to represent the United States at the U-18 and U-19 levels, respectively. Midfielder Ervin Torres was also signed to a short-term agreement with Austin FC’s first team and was rostered for the match against FC Cincinnati.
As the season ends, Austin FC Academy is proud to continue growing the legend of the VERDE & Black with every match, every step, and every season.
