Austin FC continued its AISD en Verde program at Reilly Elementary on April 24 with a visit from Verde & Black midfielder Dani Pereira. Pereira spent time with Reilly’s 5th graders and discussed his upbringing in Venezuela, the importance of continuing to dream, and working hard to overcome life’s obstacles.
AISD en Verde was established to serve Central Texas Title 1 Elementary schools, with a focus on inspiring kids to develop a passion for reading. As part of the program, books are donated to the school library from locally-owned Black Pearl Books and students are invited to attend an Austin FC match at Q2 Stadium. The program kicked off earlier this month with a visit by Austin FC midfielder Ethan Finlay to Pillow Elementary.
