On November 3, Austin FC worked with partner Tellus Equipment Solutions to restore the Tillery Soccer Fields in east Austin. The revitalization efforts aim to provide young players with a high-quality space to practice and play.

“We want to thank our partners at Tellus for their desire to improve access to soccer for young people in our community,” said Austin FC VP of Community Impact Trennis Jones. “We hope that these improvements to the Tillery fields will make soccer more fun and more accessible in east Austin.”

Together, Austin FC and Tellus provided nets for the goals, cones, and pennies to the soccer program at Tillery fields. Tellus also provided John Deere lawn mowers and trimmers, which both the Austin FC grounds crew and Tellus team used to mow and paint the soccer fields.

“With Tellus recently recognizing its two-year anniversary and opening a store in Austin earlier this year, we are very excited to have the opportunity to partner with Austin FC on projects that impact our community,” said Jimmy Marks, VP of Sales and Marketing at Tellus. “We look forward to watching the East Austin Soccer Club’s success for years to come.”

The Tillery Fields are home to East Austin Soccer. Ismael Guzmán, a local resident, has personally maintained the fields using his own finances and equipment for the last decade. Guzmán was recognized last year as one of Major League Soccer’s 27 Community MVPs last season for his positive impact on East Austin Soccer players.
