BloodDrive

On Wednesday, August 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CT, Austin FC and Q2 Holdings, Inc. will team up to host a blood drive benefiting donation center We Are Blood at Q2 Stadium in the Captain Morgan Club. Donors will have the chance to win tickets to an Austin FC match every hour, courtesy of Q2, and all donors will receive a custom t-shirt.

Austin FC, Q2, and We Are Blood collaborated for a successful blood drive at Q2 Stadium in October 2021. With more than 190 donors and 174 total blood units collected, the event was We Are Blood’s largest single-day blood drive since 2007.

“After the fantastic turnout from our community at last year’s blood drive, we’re excited to have the opportunity to work with Q2 and We Are Blood once again to provide a life-saving resource for Central Texans in need,” said Austin FC President Andy Loughnane.

Those interested in donating blood at the event can pre-register to do so and reserve an appointment time by clicking here, while walk-up appointments are also welcome. Attendees will also have the opportunity to register with Be The Match, the most diverse bone marrow registry in the nation.

“It is an honor to join forces once again with We Are Blood and Austin FC to serve our Austin community,” said Q2 Chief Executive Officer Matt Flake. “Q2’s mission to build strong and diverse communities is at the heart of all that we do. We hope to see great success again at this year’s blood drive as We Are Blood continues to provide life-saving help to those in need.”

Founded in Austin in 1951 as the Travis County Medical Society Blood Bank, We Are Blood has provided and protected Central Texas’ blood supply ever since. As the community’s exclusive blood supplier, the non-profit organization aims to inspire Central Texans to save lives locally through blood donations.

“We are excited and grateful to Austin FC and Q2 for partnering with We Are Blood to host a blood drive for a second year. This blood drive will save lives in the Central Texas community,” said Nick Canedo, Vice President of Community Engagement at We Are Blood. “Austin FC continues to give our community a reason to cheer and together with Q2 rallies Central Texans to make a life-saving difference for local patients in need.”
