Austin FC unveiled today the name and brand for Austin FC II, the Club’s new MLS NEXT Pro team. Austin FC II will compete as one of 28 clubs in MLS NEXT Pro’s second season in 2023.

Austin FC II will have its own full technical and support staff and the team’s first Head Coach will be introduced at 12:00 p.m. CT today at Q2 Stadium, with media invited to attend. Media members who wish to RSVP to cover the introduction of the Austin FC II Head Coach may do so by contacting Cameron Koubek (contact information above).

Austin FC II will provide players the chance to develop and compete in a high-level, professional environment each day. Austin FC II will complete the pro player pathway between elite youth soccer (MLS NEXT) and MLS, for players to develop, improve, and potentially move up to the Austin FC first team.

Austin FC II will comprise first-team players on MLS contracts, players signed directly to Austin FC II, and academy players on amateur contracts. The structure of Austin’s MLS NEXT Pro team is designed to allow for players at all levels of the organization to get the playing and training experience that is right for them at any given moment of their development throughout their season.

Player signings will be announced throughout the coming months in addition to more details on scheduling and competition format.

Austin FC II will train and operate alongside the Austin FC first team and academy teams out of St. David’s Performance Center.

More information on Austin FC II’s home venue will be released as soon as possible. Fans will be able to stream Austin FC II matches via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
