Austin FC forward Maxi Urruti earned Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week honors for Week 8 of the regular season, with midfielder Sebastián Driussi named to the Team of the Week bench as the Verde & Black won their third-consecutive MLS match and first-ever against Canadian opposition, defeating Vancouver Whitecaps FC 3-0 on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium. ATXFC is now 8-1-1 in its last 10 at home and has the league’s longest-active sellout streak at 22 matches.

Urruti scored his third and fourth goals of the season, breaking the deadlock in the 11th minute with a first-time strike on a feed from fellow Argentine Driussi. In the 26th minute, the forward received the ball with his back to goal, created space for himself on the turn, and placed an accurate low shot inside the far post.

Driussi then completed ATXFC’s scoring on 68 minutes with his league-leading sixth goal of the season. The Designated Player made an intelligent late run into the box, and arrived at the perfect time to finish off a flicked header from Julio Cascante.
