Austin FC forward Christian Ramirez was selected to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday for his role in the team’s 2-1 away win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Sunday evening at BC Place.
Ramirez recorded a pair of first-time finishes, opening the scoring in the 28th minute off a low cross from Facundo Torres and hitting a powerful strike past Whitecaps goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka in the 60th, set up by a Joseph Rosales through ball.
Ramirez now leads Austin FC with seven goals in MLS regular season play, and has 10 total goal contributions (seven goals, three assists) across all competitions this season.
