Austin FC midfielder Owen Wolff was named to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Matchday bench after recording two (2) assists as Austin twice overcame a one-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Portland Timbers on Saturday night at Providence Park. Wolff earns his second Team of the Matchday selection of the 2023 season.
Wolff picked up a secondary assist for Austin’s first equalizer in the 59th-minute. The 18-year-old played Emiliano Rigoni down the left wing who in turn set up Jon Gallagher with a cross to the back post. Wolff then orchestrated Will Bruin’s 92nd-minute game-tying goal, hitting a long, accurate cross from the right flank which Bruin headed home.
In addition to his two (2) assists, Wolff passed at an 86.1 percent success rate, successfully completed all four (4) of his attempted dribbles, and won six (6) of his eight (8) duels. Wolff’s assist tally for the season now stands at three (3), to go with one (1) goal scored.
