Moussa Djitté Voted MLS Player of the Week

Austin FC forward Moussa Djitté was voted Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Player of the Week presented by Continental Tire after scoring the Club’s first-ever hattrick in a 3-0 home win over Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night. The victory clinched a place in the MLS Cup Playoffs for Austin FC.

After entering the match as a 58th-minute substitute with the score tied, Djitté scored in the 60th, 76th, and 80thminutes to become the sixth player in MLS history to record a hattrick as a substitute, and the second-fastest ever to do so (22 minutes).

Djitté has scored four (4) goals in 282 minutes of game action this season, placing him at 1.28 goals per 90 minutes, the best mark of anyone in MLS to play at least 250 minutes this season. Djitté is the second Austin FC player to be voted MLS Player of the Week, and the first in 2022.
