Austin FC Earns Away Point at Minnesota

report1

Austin FC drew 2-2 with Minnesota United FC in a back-and-forth battle at Allianz Field on Sunday night.

Mikkel Desler earned Austin a penalty early in the first half, which Myrto Uzuni converted to give the Verde & Black the lead. The half quickly turned chaotic as Minnesota was awarded a penalty of its own shortly after. Brad Stuver saved Kelvin Yeboah’s initial attempt and although the Loons scored on the rebound, video review revealed infractions by both teams on the play. Yeboah then hit the retake off the crossbar.

Anthony Markanich equalized for Minnesota in the 69th minute and Joaquín Pereyra put the hosts in front in the 77th, but their advantage lasted only two (2) minutes. Christian Ramirez finished a chance in the box to help ATXFC gain a valuable road point and extend its unbeaten run to three (3) matches.
