Austin FC fell in a 3-1 defeat to Charlotte FC on Saturday night at Bank of America Stadium.

Austin started well but were reduced to 10 men with a red card in the 25th minute. Idan Toklomati then gave the hosts the lead by tapping in a deflected cross, though the lead lasted only two (2) minutes. Ilie Sánchez played a long ball forward which Charlotte defender Morris Agyemang headed past his own goalkeeper and into the net.

The Verde & Black battled well in the second half but Charlotte found their second and third goals from Pep Biel to decide the game.
