Austin FC fell in a 2-1 defeat to FC Dallas on Sunday night at Q2 Stadium. 18-year-old Austin FC Academy product Ervin Torres scored his first career MLS goal in the loss, becoming the second youngest player to score in Club history behind only Owen Wolff.
Dallas grabbed the lead just before halftime with a header off a corner kick by Lalas Abubakar. But ATXFC came out of the locker room with new life, and equalized 12 minutes into the second half when Torres hit a powerful left-footed strike from the edge of penalty area.
Despite more positive play from Austin, the visitors retook the lead in the 73rd minute as Petar Musa’s shot caromed in off the post, a goal which held up as the match-winner.
