Austin FC will face off against Liga MX side Toluca FC in the Leagues Cup 2026 quarterfinals on Wednesday night away at Sports Illustrated Stadium. The match will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. CT.

 Austin FC Outlook Â
In Austin FC’s final match of Phase One in Leagues Cup 2026 back on August 13, the Verde & Black earned a spot in the quarterfinals with a shootout win over Club América. Austin has now won all three of the shootouts in which the Club has taken part in its history, a trend it may need to continue should things finish all square after regulation against Toluca. Myrto Uzuni tallied four goals and one assist across the team’s three Phase One matches, including the equalizer against América and a hat trick against Puebla.
Austin now heads to Harrison, New Jersey for a neutral-site quarterfinal against Toluca. It will be the Verde & Black’s second-ever Leagues Cup knockout match and first-ever Leagues Cup quarterfinal, after playing LAFC in a Round of 32 match in 2024.
A place in the semifinals is up for grabs, and in addition to chasing a trophy, Austin can qualify for next season’s Concacaf Champions Cup with a top three finish in Leagues Cup.
Toluca FC OutlookÂ
Toluca was also victorious in its most recent Leagues Cup match, defeating FC Dallas 3-1 at Estadio Nemesio DÃez. After the teams exchanged early goals, Toluca scored just before and just after halftime to take the win and qualify for the quarterfinals. Though they fell at LAFC earlier in Phase One, they are off to a 3-1-1 start in Liga MX play.
Toluca is one of the most successful teams in Concacaf over the last few seasons. They are the defending Concacaf Champions Cup winners and won consecutive Liga MX titles in 2025 while also winning the Campeón de Campeones Cup. Managed by Argentine Antonio Mohamed, Toluca is a balanced side with quality throughout. In addition to an attack in which multiple players share the scoring load, they had the joint-best defense in Liga MX last season, allowing only one goal per match.
Toluca will look to lean on its experience in international competition to advance past the Verde & Black on Wednesday night.
