Austin FC Outlook

ATXFC remains undefeated in its last five league matches after securing a point at home against Colorado Rapids on Wednesday night. The Verde & Black scored yet another late equalizer, this time via an incredible cross from Žan Kolmanič which found Facundo Torres unmarked in the area.

The Verde & Black will now travel to British Columbia to take on Vancouver on Sunday afternoon, and they’ll be looking to build on recent success in the PNW. ATXFC claimed victories in Seattle and Portland in August, and the team could complete the road sweep of MLS’ Cascadia clubs at BC Place.

More importantly, Austin is just four points away from the playoff line. A win against the Whitecaps could bring the Verde & Black within a single point of a postseason place as the campaign enters its homestretch.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC Outlook

Vancouver currently sits at the top of the Western Conference table, leading the way with 46 points. It’s a tight race for home field advantage, with only six points separating the Whitecaps from Dallas in fourth.

Like Austin, Vancouver had a midweek match, defeating LA Galaxy 3-0 at BC Place. All three goals came from different goal scorers for an all-around team performance. 16 different ‘Caps have now found the back of the net across all competitions this year.

With Wednesday’s victory, VWFC remains unbeaten in MLS play when leading at halftime under current head coach Jesper Sørensen. It will be up to the Verde & Black to strike first and ride their current road momentum to claim another three points in the PNW.
