Austin FC Outlook
Austin FC earned a point against Minnesota United FC away at Allianz Field Sunday night. Myrto Uzuni scored for a third consecutive match and Christan Ramirez for a second as the team extended its current unbeaten run to three matches. Uzuni and Ramirez have combined for five goals and three assists during that spell.
ATXFC will now travel to the Golden State to take on San Diego FC Wednesday night. The last time the two sides met occurred almost a year ago to the day in Southern California, ending in a 2-0 loss for the Verde & Black. ATX won the reverse fixture 2-1 at home early in the season with San Diego native Brandon Vazquez and Jon Gallagher netting the goals.
Austin will look to keep its momentum going through its final three matches before the FIFA World Cup break.
San Diego FC Outlook
San Diego FC enters Wednesday’s match coming off a 1-1 draw against Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field last Saturday night. SDFC’s sole goal came early in the first half from forward Marcus Ingvartsen. The Sounders eventually equalized in the 80th minute to snatch points away from their visitors.
San Diego currently sits in 13th place in the MLS Western Conference, a contrast to their high-flying inaugural season last year. With last weekend’s draw, SDFC is now winless in its last 10 matches across all competitions. It’s not a team to be taken lightly though, as Mikey Varas’ side began its season with four consecutive victories including one over reigning Liga MX champions Toluca.
Mexican international superstar Hirving “Chucky” Lozano is still on the roster but has yet to make an appearance in 2026. Last season, Lozano tallied nine goals and 10 assists, an impact SDFC is missing this year. Ingvartsen has stepped up in his absence with eight goals, and Danish midfielder Anders Dreyer continues to excel with five goals and six assists.
