Austin FC Outlook
Austin FC fell to Charlotte FC last Saturday night, in what turned into a chaotic match following Austin falling to 10 men early in the night.
Austin will look to bounce back against Real Salt Lake this weekend to restore the momentum from a positive start to the season. The VERDE & Black last won in Utah in 2023, with both Owen Wolff and Jon Gallagher scoring in that victory. Though both of those came in the first half, ATXFC has often found the net late in this matchup, netting 8 of its 14 all-time MLS regular season goals against RSL in the 76th minute or later.
ATXFC won six road matches in 2025, the second-highest single season tally in team history. A positive result in Utah would set them on their way toward equaling or bettering that total in 2026.
Real Salt Lake Outlook
Real Salt Lake started off the season strong, finding two wins in their first three matches. Most recently, RSL defeated Atlanta 3-1 at Mercedes Benz Stadium last weekend, following a 2-1 home win over Seattle Sounders in Matchweek 2.
RSL’s young talent shone down south, with impressive goals from rookie Sergi Solans and homegrowns Aiden Hezarkhani and Zavier Gozo spoiling the party for the home side. It was the third consecutive week in which RSL has started four academy products.
Salt Lake will be entering the match against Austin with newly acquired designated player Morgan Guilavogui. Guilavogui is already making his presence known, assisting Solans’ first career goal.
