Austin FC OutlookÂ
Prior to the international break, Austin FC played to a 0-0 draw against LAFC at home. Austin remains undefeated at home after becoming the first team this season to shut out the current Western Conference leaders.
Austin will now have an opportunity to pick up a statement victory against the reigning MLS Cup champions and Lionel Messi as the club opens its brand-new stadium. Austin and Miami have faced each other twice before, resulting in a 5-1 win for ATXFC in 2022 and a 1-1 draw in 2023.
Austin heads to South Florida determined to remain undefeated against Inter Miami and to rain on their hosts’ parade. The match kicks off a busy month of April for Austin, in which the Club will play five league matches and at least one U.S. Open Cup match.
Inter Miami CF OutlookÂ
After beginning the season with a tough 3-0 away defeat against LAFC, Inter Miami has since rebounded with a stretch of three wins and three draws in their most recent six matches (five of which were road games) to rise to third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Miami last visited New York City FC and took home an eventful 3-2 victory over the boys in blue.
Austin is set to match up against Miami for the first time since Messi arrived in the summer of 2023. The Argentine superstar and World Cup winner has tallied an incredible 82 goals and 53 assists in 94 appearances across all competitions to date during his time in Miami. Telasco Segovia has been a strong contributor as well so far this season with a goal and three assists in five games.
If Austin are to get a result at Nu Stadium, it will require a complete team effort to keep Miami’s group of superstars quiet.
