Austin FC will face off with Houston Dynamo FC in the team’s second match following the FIFA World Cup break on Saturday night. The rivalry road match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. CT at Shell Energy Stadium.

Austin FC Outlook
Following a 3-1 victory against Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday in the first game back from the World Cup break, Austin FC is looking for consecutive wins and continued momentum as they travel to Houston to face off against the Dynamo this Saturday night. 18-year-old Ervin Torres provided the spark against the Sounders, contributing two assists off the bench. Myrto Uzuni also boosted his team-high goal tally to six, scoring the match winner in the 86th minute.
This in-state rivalry last took place at Q2 Stadium back in April, with the Verde & Black taking a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Jayden Nelson and Uzuni. Austin looks to defeat a solid Houston squad for the second time in the 2026 season and begin a multi-game win streak.Â
As Austin aims to continue climbing toward the playoff line, a win on Saturday would also put the team in a strong position to compete for this year’s Copa Tejas crown ahead of its two matchups with FC Dallas later in the campaign.
Houston Dynamo FC Outlook
In Houston’s first match back from the World Cup break, they tied 1-1 with D.C. United at home in Shell Energy Stadium. Héctor Herrera got the scoring started in the 40th minute and the equalizer from D.C. came in the 78th minute from Tai Baribo.
Houston currently holds a 7-2-6 record and stands at 7th place in the Western Conference standings. They have drawn each of their last three matches, with their last victory coming at home against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on May 16. The Dynamo have lost only twice this season on home turf, and the D.C. result marked the first time they have dropped points at Shell Energy Stadium since April 4.
In addition to Herrera, Guilherme (eight goals, five assists) and Jack McGlynn (two goals, four assists) are key Houston players that Austin’s defense will aim to keep quiet.
