Austin FC Outlook

Austin FC will look to rebound from a tough night in San Diego on Wednesday. ATXFC delivered back-to-back shutout wins in its last two home matches, blanking Houston and St. Louis with Myrto Uzuni scoring in both games.

The Verde & Black have an impressive all-time home record vs. SKC, winning all five of the previous regular season meetings between the teams at Q2 Stadium. Owen Wolff – who has played increasing minutes in each match since returning from injury for his season debut against St. Louis on May 3 – played a role in every goal Austin scored against SKC in 2025 in a pair of victories, assisting both game-winners and scoring once himself.

ATXFC has two games remaining prior to MLS’ two-month break for the FIFA World Cup and currently sits just two points below the playoff line. The aim will be to win both and climb above that line prior to the midseason reset.

Sporting KC Outlook

Though Sporting KC is bottom of the MLS Western Conference, they showed an excellent response on Wednesday night from last weekend’s 6-0 defeat at Portland, beating LA Galaxy 3-1 at Children’s Mercy Park. Calvin Harris was the catalyst behind the victory, scoring once and assisting twice.

Former Austin FC goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland joined SKC over the offseason and took the starting job between the posts, making six saves in the win over the Galaxy.

Striker Dejan Joveljic is a proven MLS goalscorer and the team’s only player with multiple goals this season, having netted six times. The ATXFC defense will need to focus on keeping him quiet to maximize their chances Saturday night.
