Austin FC Outlook

Austin FC fell to Real Salt Lake last Saturday night away at America First Field. Austin FC took an early lead with Jon Bell netting his first goal for the VERDE & Black but ultimately RSL came back to claim all three points.

Austin is unbeaten at home thus far this season after collecting four points from the team’s first two home matches and will look to extend that streak against LAFC. While LAFC eliminated Austin from the 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs, ATXFC won both regular season meetings against the California club.

A win would help Austin build momentum ahead of the international break.

LAFC Outlook

LAFC enters Saturday off the back of a win against Alajuelense in the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday night to advance to the quarterfinals. In MLS play, LAFC is a perfect 4-0-0 to start the campaign, most recently defeating St. Louis 2-0 at BMO Stadium last Saturday night.

Mathieu Choinière made an immediate impact in his first start of the regular season, hitting the back of the net twice in the second half. With its latest win, LAFC has shutout its opponent in each of its first four games of the season, becoming the fourth team in MLS history to do so.

Although LAFC has no shortage of impactful players, they will head to Austin with tired legs due to the short turnaround. Austin will look to capitalize to make it back-to-back home wins.
