Austin FC Outlook

Austin FC drew 1-1 to LAFC Wednesday night away at BMO Stadium. Austin ended the first half with a 1-0 lead after Osman Bukari set up Jáder Obrian in the middle of the box, and the Colombian converted the chance for his team-high sixth goal of the season. Though LAFC managed to equalize in the second half, it was a solid overall performance that saw the Verde & Black return home with a crucial point.

Austin now turns its attention to Houston at Q2 Stadium. The two met twice earlier in the season with the Verde & Black winning 1-0 on both occasions. Austin will look to complete a season sweep of their in-state rivals on Saturday night.

A victory over Dynamo FC could lift Austin to within just one point of the playoff line if coupled with a loss by Minnesota in their game at Sporting KC.

Houston Dynamo FC Outlook

Houston Dynamo FC are coming off a 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night at Shell Energy Stadium. Houston’s sole goal came from Ezequiel Ponce, his third of the season. The team sits in 7th place in the Western Conference with a 12-8-9 overall record and a 7-5-2 away record.

The Dynamo enter Saturday’s contest in good form, with only two losses in their last 15 league matches. Ibrahim Aliyu is Houston’s top scorer this season with six goals to his name. Former Austin FC forward McKinze Gaines, who became the first Austinite to sign for Austin back in 2021, could make an appearance in rival colors at Q2 Stadium.

Houston has yet to win a game at Q2 Stadium, and it’ll be up to the Verde and Black to continue that trend in front of their home fans.
