Canada Soccer today announced the 32 players who have reported to the program’s pre-FIFA World Cup training camp in Charlotte, North Carolina, with Austin FC winger Jayden Nelson named in the squad. The group is training in Charlotte through May 29, when Head Coach Jesse Marsch will announce Canada’s official 26-player FIFA World Cup 2026™ roster. Nelson reported to the training camp following Austin FC’s match against St. Louis on May 23.

Nelson, who joined the Verde & Black prior to the start of the 2026 MLS season, has two (2) goals in six (6) starts to date for the Club. At the senior international level, Nelson has made 12 previous appearances for Canada including one (1) in last summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup. He scored against Cuba in a 2023 Gold Cup match and against Barbados in a friendly.

Canada was drawn into Group B at the official FIFA World Cup 2026™ draw in Washington last December, alongside Bosnia and Herzegovina, Qatar, and Switzerland, with matches scheduled for June 12 at BMO Field in Toronto, June 18 at BC Place in Vancouver, and June 24 at BC Place in Vancouver.

Canada’s June 12 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina will be 1 of 4 shown on a large outdoor screen at the Austin Soccer Celebration at Auditorium Shores in downtown Austin.  The event will feature food and beverage offerings, beer garden-style spaces, and a high-energy, family-friendly atmosphere.
