Gabrielsen, Fagundez Earn MLS Team of the Week Honors For Week 7

Austin FC defender Ruben Gabrielsen earned Major League Soccer (MLS) Team of the Week honors for Week 7 of the regular season, with midfielder Diego Fagundez named to the Team of the Week bench as the Verde & Black scored three (3) times in the final 10 minutes to erase a two-goal deficit and earn a 3-2 win over D.C. United.

Gabrielsen registered both his first goal and first assist with Austin FC. The Norwegian center back made a pass to Hector Jimenez in the 85th minute, who in turn found Sebastián Driussi with a pinpoint cross for the equalizer. Gabrielsen then scored the winner in the 90th minute, rising above his defender at the back post to head home a cross from Fagundez.

In addition to assisting Gabrielsen for the winner, Fagundez provided the assist for the first goal of the comeback, putting his corner kick delivery in a dangerous area for Danny Hoesen to finish. Fagundez is tied for the MLS lead in assists so far this season with five (5), and his 55 career assist rank sixth among active players.
