Austin FC midfielder Diego Fagundez was named to the MLS Team of the Week bench following his performance in Austin’s 1-1 away draw with FC Dallas on Saturday night at Toyota Stadium. Fagundez has now earned three (3) Team of the Week selections this season.
For the second-consecutive match, Fagundez scored an equalizing goal for Austin FC, beating FC Dallas goalkeeper Maarten Paes in the 79th minute to level the score and help the Club get the result it needed to win the 2022 Copa Tejas title.
Fagundez now has five (5) goals to go with eight (8) assists this season, including four (4) goals and four (4) assists in road matches. His 65 career goals rank 11th-most among active MLS players.
