Austin FC hosted its inaugural Evergreen Match at Q2 Stadium, a night centered on sustainability, Earth Day, and the green spaces that help define Austin. Evergreen is Austin FC and YETI’s year-round platform that amplifies environmental efforts and invites the community to help protect and celebrate the spaces that keep the city vibrant and full of life.Â
For the match, Austin FC players took the pitch in kits featuring the Evergreen patch, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Keep Austin Beautiful. Fans were welcomed with  plantable seed packs courtesy of Texas Disposal Systems (TDS), tying into the Club’s ongoing commitment to reducing environmental impact. Through its partnership with TDS, Austin FC continues to divert more than 90% of matchday waste from landfills and has become the only first soccer-specific stadium in the world to earn TRUE Platinum certification, the highest level for zero-waste operations.Â
At halftime, Austin FC recognized nine local nonprofits working across Central Texas to protect and sustain the region’s green spaces. Leaders from Austin Parks Foundation, EcoRise, Hill Country Conservancy, Keep Austin Beautiful, PEAS, Shoal Creek Conservancy, The Trail Conservancy, TreeFolks, and Zilker 351 were in attendance and honored for their ongoing impact.Â
Through Evergreen, Austin FC and YETI continue to connect matchday moments with year-round action rooted in sustainability, community, and care for Austin’s green spaces.
