Major League Soccer (MLS) announced today the 2026 MLS 22 Under 22 class, with 18-year-old Austin FC midfielder Ervin Torres voted to the list at the No. 19 spot.

The MLS 22 Under 22 is an annual list recognizing the league’s best young players, as voted by an expert panel of MLS coaches, general managers, sporting directors, MLS Season Pass Talent, and select media.

Torres earns a selection to the 22 Under 22 list for the first time in his career, joining Owen Wolff as the second player in ATXFC history to receive the honor. Torres has become a regular contributor to Austin FC during the 2026 season, totaling 17 appearances (11 starts). He ranks second on the team with six assists and scored his first career goal in a match against FC Dallas on August 16.

Torres is an Austin FC Academy product having initially joined the Club’s U-14 team in fall 2020. He went on to become an MLS NEXT All-Star and begin competing with Austin FC II in MLS NEXT Pro in 2023. Torres made his MLS debut on October 19, 2024, and in doing so became the first player to represent Austin FC at the first team, second team, and academy levels, and the second-youngest player to appear in an MLS match for Austin FC at 16 years and 340 days old. He signed a Homegrown contract with the Austin FC first team following the 2025 season.
