Austin FC midfielder and Designated Player Sebastián Driussi was named to the MLS Team of the Week following his performance in Austin’s 2-0 away win over Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night at Children’s Mercy Park. Driussi has now earned a team-high nine (9) Team of the Week selections this season.
Driussi scored his league-leading 14th goal of the season against SKC on Saturday, with a composed 1v1 finish following a clever pass from Diego Fagundez. He has a goal involvement in each of his last six (6) matches, totaling five (5) goals and three (3) assists in that span.
Driussi’s performances this season earned selections to both the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge and the MLS All-Star Game, which will take place in Minnesota on August 9 and 10 respectively.
