La Federación Venezolana de Fútbol (the Venezuelan Football Federation) today announced the list of players called up to the Venezuela U-23 Men’s National Team for its December 10 match vs. Colombia, with Austin FC midfielder Dani Pereira named in the squad. Pereira will join Venezuela’s U-23s in Miami for the match.
Pereira, 23, made his debut for the Venezuelan Senior Men’s National Team on June 15, 2023, coming on as a substitute in the team’s 1-0 win over Honduras. He made his first international start three (3) days later in a 1-0 win over Guatemala.
Since Austin FC selected Pereira with the first overall pick of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, he has made 90 appearances for the Club across the MLS regular season and playoffs, recording two (2) goals and 12 assists. In 2023, he tied for the team lead with eight (8) assists, while leading Austin in completed passes (1,338), duels (321), and interceptions (32).
