Austin FC drew 1-1 against San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium, thanks to an equalizer deep into second half stoppage time by Guilherme Biro.
San Jose went ahead early with a left-footed strike to the bottom corner by Beau Leroux. Austin thought they had found an instant response when Facundo Torres put the ball in the back of the net moments later, but the video assistant referee ruled the goal out for handball.
Austin pushed forward in search of an equalizer and generated several opportunities to level the score, finally breaking through on the last play of the game. Biro was quickest to react to a loose ball in the box, and he beat San Jose goalkeeper Angus Gunn to earn ATXFC an important point.
Goal-Scoring Summary
