Austin FC Selects Stefan Dobrijevic, Patrick Cayelli in MLS SuperDraft 2026

In the MLS SuperDraft 2026, Austin FC selected forward Stefan Dobrijevic in the second round with the 47th overall pick, and selected midfielder Patrick Cayelli in the third round with the 77th overall pick.

The Club also traded its first round selection (the 17th overall pick) to Vancouver Whitecaps FC as part of a deal to acquire winger Jayden Nelson.

Dobrijevic, originally from Uniontown, Ohio, appeared in 76 matches for the University of Akron. He contributed 15 goals across four (4) seasons with Akron, including eight (8) goals and 12 assists in 21 matches as a senior in 2025, helping the Zips reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Tournament. He was named the Big East Offensive Player of the Year, to the All-Big East First Team and Big East All-Tournament Team, the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Team, and a United Soccer Coaches First-Team Scholar All-America honoree.

Cayelli, originally from Anderson, South Carolina, appeared in 60 matches for the University of Pennsylvania. He registered nine (9) goals and eight (8) assists in 17 games during his senior season, including a hattrick against William & Mary. He was a 2025 Unanimous First Team All-Ivy League selection, a 2025 Academic All-Ivy selection, and a CSC Academic All-District selection in both 2024 and 2025. In 2022, Cayelli made two (2) appearances for Greenville Triumph SC in USL League One while with the club on an academy contract.
