On November 8th for National STEM Day (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Austin FC and partner AMD welcomed over 100 middle school students and educators from Manor New Tech Middle School to Q2 Stadium for a day of experiential learning.

“We’re grateful to have worked with our partners at AMD to bring this terrific event to life,” said Austin FC VP of Community Impact Trennis Jones. “Hands-on learning is such an important part of a STEM education and we’re happy to have provided these local young students with an opportunity to do so today.”

More than 50 AMD volunteers guided the students through the step-by-step process of building 20 computers which were donated to Manor New Tech Middle School.

“AMD is proud to work with our partners including Austin FC to create an event that highlights the importance of STEM education. This is a great way to introduce students to new careers and new possibilities – all while having fun. We want students to walk away feeling curious and empowered in their educational journey,” said Susan Moore, Corporate Vice President, Corporate Responsibility and Government Affairs at AMD.
