Austin FC played to an 0-1 result against St. Louis City in the team's first of three matches at the 2026 Coachella Valley Invitational. The only goal of the match came in the 16th minute with Simon Becher finding the net for St. Louis.
Jon Gallagher, set up by Jayden Nelson, had the best chance of the game for ATXFC in the first half. Gallagher forced a save from the St. Louis goalkeeper, and Guilherme Biro later sent a header over the bar from a corner kick. Brad Stuver made a handful of solid saves to keep the match close as the Verde & Black made substitutions throughout the second half, giving valuable preseason minutes to several players.
