Austin FC played to an 0-2 result against New York City FC on Sunday afternoon in a preseason match open to Season Ticket Members at Q2 Stadium.
The visitors went in front through Nicolás Fernández in the 31st minute, who put away a rebound after a solid initial save by Brad Stuver in the Austin goal. Agustín Ojeda added another just before halftime.
Austin pushed in the second half and came closest to scoring when Besard Sabovic’s header went just wide from a quality Žan Kolmanič cross. In total, 22 players saw action for the Verde & Black on the day, including four (4) Austin FC II players.
