On Thursday, Austin FC officially dropped “The Violet Crown Kit”, the club’s first-ever third jersey and its first-ever purple jersey, as part of the 2026 adidas x MLS Archive Collection. Bringing a brand-new colorway to the Club’s kit collection, the kit leans into “The Violet Crown”— that iconic sunset glow that’s defined the city for over a century. The kit will make its on-field debut in tonight’s Leagues Cup match against Club América.
“Austin has been known as the City of the Violet Crown, long before Austin FC existed,” said Austin FC Chief Executive Officer Andy Loughnane. “This kit gives us an opportunity to take something uniquely associated with our city and make it part of our Club’s identity in an entirely new way. It’s our first-ever third jersey, our first in this color, and most importantly it feels unmistakably Austin.”
BEHIND THE KIT
The Violet Crown Kit is the eighth jersey ever released by Austin FC and is the first to feature a colorway different from the Club’s traditional colors. It will be a part of the 2026 kit collection alongside the Heartbeat Kit and the Rooted Kit.
The Violet Crown Kit features a retro typeface and violet palette. The jocktag reads “Underneath the Violet Crown,” a lyric sung by supporters at Austin FC home matches. Like the Club’s previous Armadillo Kit and current secondary jersey The Rooted Kit, an alternate tree crest adorns the front of the jersey.
For the first time, “Austin" spans across the center chest in a violet and pink gradient exclusive to this kit. YETI, Austin FC’s official jersey partner, appears prominently beneath the player's name and number. Our jersey sleeve partner, Siete, brings its local flavor to the right sleeve in white. A custom-colored MLS shield sits above the Apple TV logo, completing the kit’s exclusive design.
