Austin FC Acquires GAM and Selects Bryant Farkarlun in MLS SuperDraft 2024

In the MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas on Tuesday, Austin FC acquired $250,000 in 2024 General Allocation Money (GAM) and selected forward Bryant Farkarlun in the second round with the 31st overall pick.

Austin received the 2024 GAM and the 31st pick via a trade with Colorado Rapids, in exchange for defender Nate Jones – whom Austin selected in the first round with the fifth overall pick – and the 34th overall pick.

Farkarlun, who is originally from Monrovia, Liberia, began his collegiate career at Houston Christian University, where he recorded 17 goals and eight (8) assists across 47 matches. In his final year at HCU, he scored nine (9) goals, three (3) of which were match-winners. He then transferred to University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and was an All-WAC First Team selection as he contributed five (5) goals in 12 appearances during his only season with the Vaqueros.

Transaction: In the MLS SuperDraft 2024 presented by adidas, Austin FC selected defender Nate Jones in the first round with the fifth overall pick. Austin then traded Jones and the 34th overall pick to Colorado Rapids in exchange for $250,000 in 2024 GAM and the 31st overall pick, and used the 31st overall pick to select forward Bryant Farkarlun.
