Austin FC Academy Successfully Hosts El Arbolito Cup Presented By Visible

From December 10 to 12, Austin FC hosted the first-ever El Arbolito Cup presented by Visible at St. David’s Performance Center. U12 teams from seven (7) Major League Soccer academies competed at the event: Austin FC, Atlanta United FC, Colorado Rapids, Houston Dynamo FC, Inter Miami CF (two teams), LA Galaxy, and New York Red Bulls.

“Hosting the inaugural El Arbolito Cup was a tremendous success,” said Austin FC Academy Director Tyson Wahl. “We are grateful to all of the MLS clubs who participated and for all of the help and support of our club.”

While New York Red Bulls wound up winning the tournament, all teams involved gained experience competing against top talent at the U12 age level from around the country.

“The tournament provided highly valuable, meaningful, and highly-competitive games for all of the teams that participated,” said Wahl. “It was an honor to have these highly-talented young players showcasing themselves here at St. David’s Performance Center. Our U12 team has grown and improved at an impressive rate, and we are proud of them and the work the coaches are doing with them.”

At the tournament, Austin FC’s U12 side played matches against Inter Miami CF, LA Galaxy, and New York Red Bulls. El Arbolito Cup marked the first time that Austin FC has hosted an official academy tournament at St. David’s Performance Center.
